Dr. Basil Remboulis
Supervising Clinician
B.Sci (Clin Sci), MHS (Osteopathy) - Member Osteopathy Australia
I graduated from Victoria University with a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Health Science in Osteopathy, back in 2011.
If you’re possibly wondering why I like being an Osteopath, it’s probably easiest described with a story that usually goes something like this:
When a patient comes to you and you can see that they are truly fed up with their painful body, it dictating what they can and can’t do on a daily basis. Then they put their trust in you to help them, to change that frustrating scenario and take back control of their health. Progress and momentum starts to build, until you actually get to achieve that challenging goal together. That’s always a pretty special moment and it still gets me every time.
In addition to those fun celebrations, I find it truly interesting talking to such a wide scope of patients every workday. I am aware that I have a fortunate profession that allows me to communicate with so many different people, from all different walks of life, with all different life experiences. I don’t take that privilege for granted and I genuinely learn something new everyday. Communication and understanding is a big part of my life and my treatment philosophy.
A bit later in my career now, I have also found a lot of enjoyment in teaching and mentoring the next generation of Osteopaths coming through the ranks. In reality, they probably teach me just as much as I teach them.
A little bit about me outside of work. I have two young daughters that inspire me to stay fit and healthy. It’s a bit of a passion of mine now, so I love challenging myself in the gym or enduring my love/hate relationship with running. It’s actually way more hate than love to be honest. I would much rather be out on the water, slowly cruising on my stand up paddle board instead.
