Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy

Avram completed his studies at the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines, with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy. Avram’s interest in physiotherapy came from his passion for basketball and wanting a career that would involve him in the sport.

He played competitively in high school, but going in to university, he felt that being an athlete was not his career path, and so he took interest in sporting injuries and studied physiotherapy.

Prior to flying in to Melbourne, Avram spent 3 years working as a sports physiotherapist with a professional basketball team in the Philippines, and has learned skills focused on exercise and injury management.

Being part of the Western Region Health team, Avram has been collaborating with the osteopaths and has been working to implement manual therapy techniques into his treatments.

Avram is passionate about getting his patients back to moving better through exercise, patient education and manual therapy combined. Through this form of treatment, Avram looks to empower patients in trusting their own bodies in their road to recovery.

He takes particular interest in injury prevention, rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions and sporting injuries. Outside of work, Avram enjoys spending quality time with his wife watching movies and exploring around Victoria. He is a big fan of the Los Angeles Lakers, and is keen on familiarising himself with Australian footy.
